Indian Special Task Force (STF) arrested country’s one of the top militant leader Abdul Karim alias Bara Karim who is one of the top brasses leading Jamatt-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh.

Karim was arrested from Jangipur in Murshidabad on Thursday, local media reported, citing Kolkata police. He was hiding there in disguise. Several important documents were also seized from his possession.

Meanwhile, Indian intelligence sees Karim’s arrest as a major success. They claim that Karim’s position in India is after Salauddin Salehin, the top leader of JMB.

Detectives believe he was in charge of the Dhulian branch of the JMB.

According to Indian media, the Bangladeshi administration and the West Bengal Police have been searching for Karim for a long time.

Earlier in 2016, the police also searched Karim’s house. The militant leader escaped after recovering a large quantity of explosives and confiscating important documents.

But this time Karim did not get that opportunity, he was caught by the detectives. He is expected to provide important information about JMB’s activities.
