Argentina’s World Cup-winning goalkeeper, Emiliano Martinez is due to arrive in Dhaka on a short visit today before his scheduled two-day visit to Kolkata, India, as said by the visit’s organiser, Satadru Dutta Associates owner Satadru, to the media on Sunday.
The 30-year-old goalkeeper is scheduled to arrive in the city from Amsterdam at around 4:40 am and depart for Kolkata at 4:10 pm.
The keeper, who played a crucial role in winning the World Cup with Argentina, will also visit the Dhaka office of NEXT Ventures, a digital business group, in the morning.
‘The trip will be very short. He will attend a programme at the office of NEXT Ventures and then go to meet the PM (Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina) at her office before leaving the country in the afternoon,’ Satadru told the Bangladeshi media.
‘There will be no public appearance,’ he added.
During the Next Ventures event, a few selected guests will be selected, including the former national cricket team captain Mashrafe bin Mortaza and state minister for information and communication Zunaid Ahmed Palak.
‘We had the intention to hold a public event during his visit. But unfortunately, he will not participate in any public events here as he will spend only a few hours here after a 38-hour journey,’ said NEXT Ventures CEO, Syed Abdullah Zayed, in a press conference.
