court in Kushtia has ordered the imprisonment of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) president Hasanul Haq Inu to jail after showing him arrested in two attempted murder cases, including an attack on daily Amar Desh editor Mahmudur Rahman.
After the order, he is now landed in Kushtia jail.
Senior Judicial Magistrate Mahmuda Sultana passed the order on Sunday (March 9).
Earlier, Inu was brought from Dhaka to Kushtia court under strict police security.
According to case details, Amar Desh editor Mahmudur Rahman had appeared at Kushtia court for hearing a defamation case on July 22, 2018.
He came under a brutal attack while on the court premises.
On October 10, 2024, Mahmudur Rahman personally filed a case at Kushtia Model Police Station, naming 47 individuals and some unidentified persons as accused. Hasanul Haq Inu was listed as the fourth accused in this case.
Additionally, an injured victim from August 5, Shariful Islam filed another attempted murder case in which Inu was also named as an accused.
Apart from these, Inu is accused in five other cases filed in Kushtia.
Inu was presented before the Kushtia court regarding these two cases.
A large number of Jasad leaders and activists gathered on the court premises.
After the hearing, when Inu was escorted into a prison van under police security, he waved at the Jasod leaders and activists as a gesture of goodwill.
