Indian Assistant High Commissioner to Rajshahi in Bangladesh Manoj Kumar has stated that India is keen to make import-export activities through the Hili land port more effective and dynamic.
Manoj passed these remarks during a meeting with businessmen, customs officials, and dignitaries at the office of the Importers and Exporters Group in Hili, Dinajpur, today. (Wednesday)
He made his comment that his visit would contribute to taking effective steps for road repairs, increasing passenger movement and swiftly resolving visa complications for traders and other travellers to India.
He also emphasized that efforts will be made to improve the existing facilities at the Hili land port so that both countries can benefit from them.
He further added that current issues at the Hili land port would be addressed to enhance its operations. He assured that effective steps would soon be taken to resolve visa-related complications.
The discussion was attended by Assistant Commissioner of Hili Customs Md. Nazmul Hasan, Revenue Officer Md. Shafiul Islam,
President of Banglahili C&F Agents Association Md. Ferdous Rahman, General Secretary Md. Shahinur Islam, President of the Importers and Exporters Group Sakhawat Hossain Shiplu,; and General Secretary Md. Nazmul Haque.
Earlier, he arrived in Hili from Rajshahi around noon and was welcomed with flowers.
He also inspected the customs and immigration facilities of both countries at the port.
