A scientific discussion meeting titled ‘Obesity: A Growing Public Health Issue’ was held in Kushtia.
Dr. A.K Azad Khan, president of the Bangladesh Diabetic Association, National Professor of the Independence Medal, inaugurated the event at Kheya restaurant in the city on Thursday evening at 7 pm.
President of Kushtia Diabetic Association Motiur Rahman Laltu spoke as the chief guest in the meeting, General Secretary of District Awami League Asgar Ali, General Secretary of Awami League, General Secretary of Kushtia Diabetic Association Mushfiqur Rahman Torlin gave the welcome speech.
Renowned Cardiologist Professor Dr S.R Khan was the main speaker.
The keynote speech was delivered by renowned diabetology and endocrinology expert Dr Farak Pathan, former principal of Kushtia Medical College, Dr. SM Mustanzid, former dean of EB Law Faculty, Prof. Shajahan Mondal, and others also gave speeches.
